The population in Ukraine continues to fall.

Ukraine's population as of 1 May, 2009 amounted to 46 million 61 thousand 403 people, according to Goskomstat. Over the same period last year the figure was 46 million 263 thousand 79 people (a decrease of 0.44%).

In particular, the urban population is 31 million 550 thousand 372 people, agriculture - 14 million 511 thousand 31 people. In Kiev, a population of 2 million 769 thousand 317.

In addition, during the period registered 72 thousand 493 marriages, divorces recorded with 46 thousand 911.
